Hidden in the old town is the best place to stop to restore yourself. Based since 1954 this rustic bar gives you the feeling to travel back on time. Simple, warm and welcoming where I tried the best local food in town. You can't miss it in Toledo, heartily. Croquetas are probably the best I ever tried in Spain.

If you want an authentic Spanish experience that is very local in flavor this is the place for you. A real hole in the wall gem. Because the restaurant is small and only seats a limited few get there early when they open or there will be a wait. We were there in off season and got right in but people were waiting in the bar when we left. It’s worth the wait. We enjoyed a ensalada with roasted red peppers and tuna, Carcamusa (pork stew and specialty of the house) and ham and cheese croquettes. All very good. And so reasonably priced. Enjoy!

We had an excellent meal and really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. We had their signature dish of pork stew as well as the deer. Both were very delicious. Our server, Stephy, was top notch - extremely friendly and attentive. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting Toledo.
