Food should be warm, hearty and enjoyable, not cold and pretentious. To be clear, the food at Paste was competently made, but for ฿4,600 a head (pre-tax), and with michelin star, I expect a lot more than competence. The lunch tasting menu began with several small courses and while each was beautifully presented, they all shared similar flavour profiles, and none were particularly memorable. The mains were decent, we had the crab curry and beef stew served with rice, and while they were plated elegantly, they were served lukewarm The most enjoyable part of the meal were the desserts which were an inventive and creative twist on local flavours. It is truly a shame because the ambeince was fantastic, and the service was impecable, but the entire experience was let down by the frankly sub-par food, and outrageous price tag. What a beautiful and stunning restaurant. They even had a little stool for my bag to sit on, which I thought was a cute touch. We had a group of 4 and did the tasting menu with the lobster add-on. Definitely worth the money for the whole experience. It ended up being about $200 USD/person, which isn't cheap for Thailand, but compared to most Michelin experiences you could get in the States, it's considerably affordable, especially when you consider all the food and drink we ended up having. First, we had booking confirmed and prepaid but the staff was giving us hard time kept asking us about the confirmation and payment it made us very uncomfortable. We came all the way to Paste from California wanting to support the chef as we heard so much about it. Food was plain but pretty looking. I highly recommend people to come to Paste if you don’t like to eat real food and just like to look at the food with have extra money that you don’t care to spend. We went home hungry & had to get some delicious street food and egg salad sandwich from 7-11.

Every now and then we all need to experience something unique like a tasting menu. Paste has a very nice posh atmosphere and the outdoor view at night is really amazing. The service is great. The staff was always very attentive, took the time to explain each dish, answered any of my questions, and was very friendly. The food was great and very satisfying. What I really enjoyed is how every dish is unique, but you can tell how each dish is built on the foundation of traditional Thai cuisine. A very unique and enjoyable experience.

The service stood out the most at Paste. From the very beginning we had the most attentive service from our waiters. I really enjoyed our dining experience. We were offered complementary starters and dessert from the chef which felt very special. We ordered the beef Hang Lay curry and crab omelet. The beef was falling apart to perfection. I enjoyed the crab omelet but I would not order it again. I also love how private our booth was, it felt like we were dining completely alone.
