3 of us had an enjoyable breakfast catchup. We had a great window table is what is a very comfortable environment. Service was good, although difficult to find someone when wanting additional coffees. Menu had a good selection of standard options, all items on dishes were enjoyable, except for the way-overcooked bacon. Overall, a pleasant few hours catching up with others.

i put food as 3 star because the sea bass and sauce was beautiful also the veg. however the mash was slightly warm at best. another in our party of 4 had fish and chips and his peas were stone cold. service poor no one came to ask was everything ok for us as is the usual. no one came to clear away plates and ask did we want desert so eventually we had to call staff member. i told them about the mash and the peas. we were offered something complimentary from cabinet, not desert menu . very poor choice there. after asking again we were granted something from desert menu which was lovely. staff m

We visited Grand Cafe just before breakfast ended — thankfully, the waiter kindly warned us and rushed our order through. Points for effort there. The place was averagely clean, if you overlook the artistic display of crumbs and scraps left on a few tables. When placing our order, no one asked about allergies or how I’d like my eggs — apparently, “chef’s guess” is the standard option here. The “House Breakfast” arrived glistening in so much oil that I briefly wondered if it came with a complimentary cholesterol test. Every bite felt like a gamble between hunger and heart failure. Amazing Amazing Amazing! Incredible from start to finish, each course truly deserving of its own “amazing.” We attended the ‘Beef Wellington Night’ in the Grand Cafe and it was, without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Every element of each course was served hot, including the sourdough and flatbread and impressively stayed that way throughout, no small feat given the variety of dishes on offer.
