Interesting pub, as Spoons go it's a middle of the road place. As always the food is great value for money. Drinks are cheap and the building is of a good standard. In all honesty I don't think there would be a pub like this in town if JD didn't have his empire. All in all a nice place and hub for the community. It was calm and everyone was well behaved while I was there. The staff are very helpful and polite. I felt they were putting in a lot of effort into looking after customers. Little touches like bringing over things to the table for you or just being very personable. Good job guys. I'd

On the whole it's a typically good Wetherspoons, staff all good and the premises is kept clean & tidy. The only really odd thing was that i had to visit one of the cubicles in the little boys room. It's the first time i've been able to watch the world go by whilst sat on the toilet !

The Brass Ballance is named after the avery scales manufacturer. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the service was quick. I called in for the large breakfast it was perfectly cooked and arrived hot. The refillable hot drinks are great value and the fresh ground coffee is excellent. It is a good wetherspoons and i will call in again the next time i am in the area.
