We spent a couple of nights here and came away feeling a real sense of family and community about the place. The room was lovely - very clean and well cared for by the chambermaids who always had a smile and a 'hello'. The building itself is very interesting and the central staircase and hall looks to be full of history. Our breakfasts and dinners were delicious and obviously prepared by a chef who knows what they are doing. The dinner menu had good options for all. And finally the waiting staff were absolutely great. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were really friendly and attentive.

Absolutely loved my stay here this week, in room 7... I was staying 3 nights for work, so naturally booked the cheapest place on hotels.com. I'm sure the price was wrong, as it turned out to be one of the best pubs I have ever stayed in..... definitely the best for the price I paid!! I could not fault a single thing...the staff were amazing, and super friendly...breakfast was soooooo good that I could not manage dinner the first two nights, but when I had dinner on my third night I wish I had forced dinner down the previous nights ......
