A really enjoyable charming historical setting. The food was tasty and the atmosphere made for a fun evening overall. Service was a bit slow, and quite a few nearby tables were missing items, but it was a Sunday night so that may have played a part. Still, a great place with plenty of character. Definitely opt for the seasoned fries rather than the chips… and don’t skip their sticky toffee pudding was the best I’ve tried in Edinburgh so far!!

After a lovely walk through Edinburgh’s Old Town, we stopped by a cozy pub to relax and grab something to eat. We had fish and chips and a couple of beers – exactly what we needed after exploring the city. The food was delicious, freshly prepared, and very satisfying, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. It felt like the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the local vibe. We really enjoyed both the place and the meal – definitely a great experience overall!

The only place out of 4 that would actually seat us. We were a group of 6 and didn't have any problems finding a spot. Food was good, but wished they had a larger selection of beer. Still enough for the average person tho, and they also have good ciders. Staff was helpful with food and other accommodations. Lots of seatings areas both inside and outside as well.

Very noise - music. Has to almost yell to speak together. I am not a fan of all the TV screens running entertainment on a regular night. Fine on special days. Not quite as cozy as next doors old pub.
