Went here yesterday evening with a friend, as we were craving Malaysian food after returning from Malaysia recently. This restaurant serves key staple dishes such as nasi lemak, beef rendang, laksa (lemak coconut curry version), roti canai, and char kway teow. We ordered the laksa, CKT, and roti canai, and found them to be quite good and representative of the quality we had in Malaysia. The portions were generous. To be honest: everything we got was absolutely delicious, with generous portions and just a right balance of spices. Beef rendang, laksa and fried noodles were simply delish and reasonably priced. Tea with frothed milk was very good. Will be back!

Amongst the many Malaysian restaurants popping up all over London, Putera Puteri is one of the few that serve Nasi Kandar, a specialty from Penang that I would consider an underrated dish in the perception of Malaysian cuisine abroad. Although what I ate was filling and very delicious, I do feel their rendition of Nasi Kandar can be improved. Fortunately, the mixed curry was really good and taste just as it would back home with a slight sweetness and spice. Ultimately, my main issue was with the ratio of rice and protein.
