First time in this pub and what a lovely place, went through the door by the car park and first thing a lovely smile from the staff. The food was excellent and a different level. It is the best meal we have ever had in this area. My wife had serloin steak and that was beautiful cooked, I had baked cod and that was beautiful as well and the accomaments on the plates were excellent. The staff were friendly and very caring from the boss to the waitress/bar lady. Ten out of ten.

I popped into The Halfway today and honestly, it didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing. Properly cooked, full of flavour and really generous portions. You know when a meal just hits the spot? It was one of those. The staff were absolutely on point as well. Friendly, welcoming and attentive without being over the top. Everything felt smooth and relaxed. And the environment? Really comfortable. It’s one of those places where you can properly switch off, enjoy your food and just feel at ease. No rush, no pressure, just a nice atmosphere. * dog friendly * ...in the bar area! We made a reservation for us and the dogs, but on arrival we were told that they weren't allowed in the restaurant. Thankfully, and very kindly, they were able to seat us in the bar area and order from the restaurant menu. If you have dogs, call for a reservation. It did get busy & louder around 8:30pm. Eat before then and it was pleasant enough. Despite all that, the food and service was brilliant.
