We bought a fan in the hot weather last summer and when we tried it in the recent hot weather it wasn't working. We didn't have the original receipt but as we have a Camp Hopson loyalty card, we popped into the shop with it on Saturday and the staff were so helpful, they looked up the purchase from last year, and with no quibbles at all, gave us a full refund. We found another fan in the shop and bought that. Absolutely great service from Connor & Shirley in the 'Wilkos' Camp Hopson premises!

We recently moved to Newbury and visited Camp Hopson on a cold day last week with my 5 month old daughter. We had a lovely mooch around the clothes section and picked up a few items in the sale. Just as I was about to head into the fitting room, a shop assistant came over with my daughter’s hat, which must have dropped on the floor. What really stood out was that every assistant after that asked if I had lost a hat; it was clear they’d all communicated with each other to make sure it was returned to the rightful owner. Camp Hopson on the main pedestrian strip in Newbury town centre is a gem. Been in here a few times and always find something fresh. It’s a compact store but surprisingly packed with goodness and stuff. You will find some key concessions in here: Boss, Chanel, Jo Malone and Molton Brown (becoming rare on the high street but in full force here). Staff are friendly, not pushy and helpful. Browse at your own pace and explore the products. This is how it used to be and how it should be. Cafe on the roof terrace and the Home annex out back. If you are in Newbury it’s well worth a visit. Came here for Afternoon tea as a birthday treat by a friend. Can highly recommend. The staff were attentive and the restaurant is tastefully decorated. Our only complaint was they are very slow at clearing tables. Would certainly return and recommend for any time of the day. There is also a seating area outside for warmer days
