The Yachtsman has changed hands since our last visit & I must admit, I was more than a little nervous after reading some of the more recent reviews. I had booked a table for our family of 15, with ages ranging between 3 to 84, for 5.30pm on Saturday & overall we all enjoyed the experience. I received very good communication throughout, regarding questions asked & minor changes requested. Behind the bar they have a pretty good selection of beers & a large varied menu. Absolutely love this pub! We went for my sister's birthday and we were not disappointed. Friendly service with an awesome choice of drinks...and then we saw the menu.....OMG...too much to mention. Our food arrived in a timely manner, hot and tasted divine. I had mac 'no cheese, birthday girl had homily pie and my partner had rhe scampi! We were all suitably impressed and will definitely visit again.

I have never left a bad review for an eatery before so this one comes after much consideration and thought. Our family party (seven people) dined here today and it was hands down the worst meal I have ever been served in a restaurant/eatery. Three of our meals were of a very poor standard (dried out slices of meat, undercooked potatoes, stuffing balls that were so hard that my partner couldn’t cut a knife through it).
