Hunter★★★★★The barkeep was the nicest I have ever conversed with. Even though the bar was quite busy I did not feel rushed to order. The food was good, very reasonably priced for an appetizer and entree, and the atmosphere of the place for someone who likes military history is unparalleled. If you are visiting the dockyard I would recommend this as a go-to.
Michelle★★★★★Got to be the best pub in Portsmouth, mixture of locals, Royal navy personnel and visitors to the city. great location opposite Portsmouth Harbour station, 100 yards from HMNB, Portsmouth dockyard, and a very short walk into Gunwharf Quays, owned by Greene king, lots of discounts available, (including military and blue light) some greens king the sunday roast can be hit and miss, but the Ship Anson do a really fabulous roast, all the meals are good. John F★★★★★A proper maritime pub down by Portsmouth Harbour. It has plenty of real ales on tap, I had the very drinkable 'Pompey Glory'. It has a lively atmosphere and lots of naval history on the walls. The service was friendly too, it's definitely one to visit when you're in Portsmouth.
Fred bigox★★★Food was good, staff were brilliant but the lack of space for wheelchair let it down. Couldnt move in chair so couldnt get to toilets. We were told to order on app but loads said sold out, then we saw people with the "sold out" food, later found out they ordered at the bar.
