Absolutely amazing pub to stop off at halfway on our 10 mile walk between Marsden and Mossley station. It's situated in lovely countryside as it's only a few hundred metres away from the boundary with the Peak District National Park. The woman that served us was very friendly and the toilets were very clean too. Playing some great music on the speakers too! Would definitely recommend stopping off here if you're in the area and would definitely come here again!

A real shame tonight. We like the pub in general, nice enough atmosphere and we travel from Marsden to here. We had food here tonight, my boyfriend ordered the roast dinner.. It was all decent. He didn't rave about it, but it was good enough. I got the fish and chips, but the small version. We literally both burst out laughing when it was put on the table! It was one fish goujon, surrounded with quite a lot of chips and a tiny serving of mushy peas. I'm a very small built woman.. And I ate the fish in 0.6 seconds. What a lovely place, defo will come back. Fantastic atmosphere, staff brilliant, attentive, and friendly but really professional. Amazing value and gorgeous food. Pork pies delicious, obviously fresh salad and yummy pate. Extremely dog friendly. Thanks for a fab afternoon. Where else are peacocks just roaming around......😀
