Ordered a mini fish and chips with curry sauce on Friday and it was honestly shocking. The fish was so dried out it was like cardboard, and it clearly wasn’t fresh. I bought it for my 8-year-old after school and ended up throwing it away because I didn’t trust the smell of it. Even the dog wouldn’t go near it. For a basic fish and chips shop to get something this wrong is embarrassing. Complete waste of money. I won’t be coming back. (Avoid if you do not want food poisoning)

Absolutely ridiculous portions for the price we pay. Whoever is okay with paying £9 for not even a full tray of meat as shown in pics is not okay. Need to find a new chip shop in hall green as this is ridiculous. Highfield chip shop has really gone down hill the past couple of years. Large chips is not even a large and barely a regular now, it’s as if when they are busy they try to ration their food to save and give less to each customer and still charge the same high prices. Absolute joke won’t be coming here again!

As a local chip shop the food constantly great. I tried a piece of SFC and chicken doner burger. Tasty piece of chicken and quality chicken doner burger which was good size and filling. Update mix meat in a tray was really nice succulent, tasty and moist. Another update: This time l tried the SFC chicken. Fried perfectly, tasted great and good size chicken pieces.

Very very poor customer service, I’ve been coming to this chip shop for the last 30 years. Today 27/06/2025 I visited with family and was presented with the worst worker I have ever come across she was rude, arrogant looked like she hated her job!! I asked for large chips and was given a regular I asked if they were large and was told in a sullen voice “yes” and ignored what I had just said and continued to pack the chip X 2 (by the way).
