So this had been recommended by a local. It’s the best fish and chips in years. It may even be the best friend battered haddock I’ve ever had. Fresh, hot, crispy and so tasty. Beautifully presented in the Simpsons box. Fresh wedges of lemon. I decided to not have chips as I’d eaten already. But my friend’s chips and fried fish in seaweed (?) were delicious. We ate in at the cute little table. I’m from London so it seemed cheap to me for such good quality food and the amount was decent if not generous. Ordered as really fancied fish qnd chips but didnt want to wait ages or pay £5 delivery fee but despite speedy pick up by uber driver fish was okay still warmish but chips were cold and dry/stale ( probaby didnt hepl cold can was packed on top ) . Also very small portion usually stuggle to finsh a medium portion ( glad i didnt go mini ) but had to bin most of the chip as didnt want to chip a tooth

It was the first time I had bought fish and chips from Simpsons in Stroud? The last time I was here it was a different shop. The service and the food were excellent. All credit goes to the two members of staff working there. I arrived at one forty-five, fifteen minutes before they closed at two. Was once excellent but now just an average takeaway, with inconsistent quality. More often than not the cod fillet has been sliced lengthways - so portion is very thin and meagre and often dry around the edges. The chips are usually overcooked and don’t have a good texture or flavour. Prices up, quality down. What a shame
