We used the Pub, not the hotel. The pub was an exceptional discovery for me and most of us, we were 10 this Sunday. It is quite some I did not have such a wonderfully cooked Sunday shoulder lamb roast. They certainly have a cook. The Sunday roast was exceptional, very tender meat, all the traditional trimmings, Yorkshire pudding, nicely cooked vegetables, parsnip, etc, a number of us had the Sunday roast universally approved, we also had, burgers, sausages and mash, veggie dishes, salads and I’m very happy to report excellent service, with the waitresses going the extra mile to meet all our re

We have been to this pub a few times now and we love it. it is very well situated with a lovely view over the park towards the cathedral. We very recently stayed in the Design House Suite as a treat for my husband's birthday. It was beautiful and we felt very spoilt by the experience. Would definitely stay overnight again.

We had the Sunday roast, and I would go as far as to say it was sensational. The beef brisket was so tender it melted in the mouth. Served with an excellent selection of delicious veg and crispy roast potatoes. They catered very well for gluten free, even providing my own GF gravy boat. The staff were very accomodating. We had a great view of the cathedral. The inside of the pub is very cosy and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit!

We stayed here for the Christmas markets. What a jem of a find. Literally opposite the Cathedral. Fabulous room with lots of little extras that made it feel really special. A great restaurant/bar below which has great waiting staff & a delicious varied menu. I cannot recommend a stay highly enough.
