Typically we get decent service here. Today was not typical. I was on the phone with my husband as he ordered our dinner at the drive thru. The employee repeated his special order taco salad back to him word for word. No lettuce, double layer of meat and cheese. We both got taco salads, by the weight of his, it was easy to tell his from mine. But we both got surprises opening out boxes. All of my toppings were sitting in the corner of the box, as though some broken machine had attempt to add them to the salad portion and completely missed. His was just as full of lettuce as mine. Over the years I’ve chowed a bunch of TJ’s food and the Super Burrito I had here in Ankeny was the best ever. Perfect in every way. Bravo to the line cook. The chick working drive thru was real sweet too. Excellent experience and highly recommend.

Taco John's was great! I went through the drive-thru, and there was no line because I was doing a late lunch today. I ordered two Cruncho Nacho Burritos. I hope that's the name of the menu items, but each burrito cost $2 and some change. The total including tax was on the good side of $4.50, so I felt like i got a pretty reasonable lunch. The employee was professional and fast. The parking lot seemed clean and well-maintained. I'm sure I'll be back.

Seriously? 3.9? Geesh the mexi rools were so hot my mouth is burning. I got guacamole and it was hotter. I'd bet someone slipoed something in them. 3.9??? Illgive you a 1 for being open.
