TomoKun Korean BBQ is a great spot if you’re craving authentic Korean BBQ in Ann Arbor. The quality of the meat was excellent and well-marinated, making it perfect for grilling at the table. The variety of banchan (side dishes) was fresh and flavorful and paired really well with the BBQ. If you like naengmyeon, it’s a must-try here. The bibim naengmyeon was especially good, and wrapping the noodles with grilled meat made it even better—such a great combination. We got the spicy beef bulgogi and LA galbi to barbecue. They were well seasoned and marinated. We also got the dolsot dupop which was delicious! This place is a little more on the expensive side but you get a lot of sides and extras. Staff is nice and checks up on you. We came at a time when it wasn’t that busy. It was easy to talk and relatively quiet.

Changing my rating because I have being deceived. The service wasn’t good but I had to pay an 18% tip that was automatically added to the bill. We went for dinner and I ordered a martini at 5:52 pm. My friend ordered a beer shortly after. The menu clearly says there’s 30% off drinks before 6 pm. When the bill came, there was no discount at all. I asked the waitress, and she went to “fix it.” When she came back, she gave a weak excuse saying the system usually applies the discount automatically, but this time it didn’t recognize it. She also said only the martini qualified for the discount. F

The food and atmosphere was nice, and another time I was here with a large group was a great experience with generous portions and attentive staff. That said, my group's most recent experience with service was poor. We were a group of five with a reservation made 3 days prior. We were seated at a 4-seat grill area and were told to sit one person at the end. We were there for 2 hours and notably there were 2 6-seat grill areas open for half that time. There was no room to fit the legs of even our smallest friend (5'0"), so she had to sit sideways to eat off the corner + couple inches of table s
