I visited the Marugame Udon branch in Arcadia recently. The atmosphere is standard for what you'd expect from this chain—clean and simple. However, I was a bit disappointed with the service during the food pickup process. The staff member handling my order placed the bowls onto the tray quite forcefully, which caused the soup to splash around. On the bright side, the food quality is still consistently great. We were hungry and after checking out the food court decided to find another restaurant, and this is just outside of the mall. The chefs are cooking the Udon noodles in huge Pots and their style is the subway way 🥪 but noodle style. We got the traditional beef and beef curry 🍜 with Gyoza. The Udon was tender and chewy and the broth was not too light but had enough richness to it tastes so good. The curry was good and not too spicy, with the meat just hit the spot. There used to be in a Marugame near my college, but it has disappeared and since then, I’ve been yearning for it. Marugame’s noodles are bouncy and the soup rich in fishy flavor. I love the ability to tempura, but my tempura was a little too soggy in the breading. But overall, loved the experience and the food

loved this place. i walked in not knowing what to expect and was blown away. the line moved super fast which was nice cause i was starving. i got the curry udon and it was so warm and comforting, perfect for a chilly day. the noodles were chewy and fresh, you can tell they make them right there. my friend got the tempura and it was crispy, not greasy at all. honestly cant wait to come back and try something different.
