Ever since discovering the Fort Collins location in college (go Rams!), Cafe Mexicali has been the standard for which to compare all other Mexican food. This standard has been upheld at the Boulder location! The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and filling. I absolutely love the chicken enchiladas but there is no wrong menu item here as they are all unbelievably tasty. If the chicken was any whiter it would be Irish cuisine. The salsas are NOT hot (red and habanero)…. . The cheese enchiladas are just shredded cheese warmed up for 5 min through a conveyor belt. (Thus the cheese never melts)…. We asked to send it through twice but still didn’t melt. Waxy cheese. Bland chicken, no taste whatsoever. A 3 year old could make better Mexican food that this atrocity of a company. I had an inside out chicken burrito. I couldn’t tell the difference between the chicken and the cut up tortillas. Just like the other Cafe Mexicali in Fort Collin comparing by food quality but definitely not the best. Seems like the customer service is horrible here like the staff don’t really want to be there. The counter were not that clean where they were preparing the food. Not a place I’ll go again and will just stick with the one in Fort Collins.

I came here the other day for the first time. Since I've been there twice. Each time the young lady was extremely polite to the people in front of me and behind me but then when she got to me. Her mannerisms completely changed and she was very rude lack of words very unfriendly. The same thing happened with the gentleman at the end that rings you out. I'm not sure what I did to offend these people. Extremely unprofessional. Won't be back. Food was decent. The food could be 20 stars out of 10 but if I'm treated like somebody with a new COVID variant I won't come back. I felt completely judged
