Started in 1988 by Gary and Zell Dwelley, Beach Break Cafe has become a essential part of the Oceanside community. Located off the historic Highway 101 that runs along the California coast, halfway between downtown Los Angeles and the Mexican border, this surf-inspired diner serves American fare with a California twist.

Janet Dang★★★★★Delish. The food was great and the service was even better. I had the corned beef hash and it was excellent. Crispy hash browns and flavor corned beef. We also were told about their famous coffee cake ($3.49) came out warm and moist. Hubby got the famous banana crunch French toast and it was so indulgent. Not too sweet and super filling. Kids menus were super generous and a great price. 5 of us ate (3 adults and 2 kids) and it was a bit under $100 before tip.

It was Sunday morning and they were quite busy. We waited for about 30min, not too bad. Our waitress was friendly and experienced as we were a party of 11. Great friendly service. Coffee was delicious, they serve it in different coffee mugs. I loved that! I did not take any pictures of our food as I was starving and practically inhaled my food. I ordered a breakfast special with poached eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, and biscuits as my side. D
