We had an absolutely delicious meal there. It's located inside the Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park. Ámbar is part of the property that was awarded a "One MICHELIN Key" in 2024. Ambar is Mexican inspired cuisine. 4 of us went for dinner as a special treat (it's on the more expensive side). It's a very cool vibe in this restaurant. The lighting is very interesting, you just have to see it. The food was fresh and delicious. The cocktails were tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have quite a tequila collection so if you are into tequila, this is the right place for you.

What an incredible experience in unique flavors! Our server, Hector, was absolutely incredible and so informative about every dish. Each dish was unique using flavors from areas and inspiration from the chef's childhood as references for the cuisine. Sous Chef, Fernando Ramos, takes pride in his dishes and recipes! All mole is made in-house, and the menu is simply amazing with a wide selection of choices. My favorite for tonight was the savory plantains! I highly recommend Ambar if you want an unforgettable experience!

Food, drinks, service, atmosphere: all 5 stars! Their mixed drinks are creative and delicious! Wife and I split the whole chicken with mashed potatoes, street corn, and 2 different mole sauces and a red sauce. Let me say this: I detest corn. I love corn products but corn by itself is a no-go for me. I tried theirs and couldn't get enough. That alone should tell you how good the food is. Long story short, I'll definitely be back here to try more of the menu...and of course the drinks😉

There are "high-end" independent restaurant groups that are far more expensive, yet don't come close to the quality and service you'll experience at Ambar. This was my introduction to the food scene in El Paso, and I was pleasantly surprised. For the level of service, food and drinks we received, I could have easily spent $200+ per person at another restaurant, but was well below that here. I will always recommend this spot, and look forward to my next visit.
