PLEASE HIRE REAL CAKE DECORATORS! I have been going to Jewel for years for my special order cakes. However, lately, the service has been horrendous. We placed an order for a sheet cake and went over all the details. I was assured that the cake would be done by a certain decorator and it wasn't. I asked for the wording to be written in cursive. The decorator even showed me her cursive writing with the frosting. When I pick up the cake, no cursive! The border at the top of the cake was huge and I'm not sure why. This store does NOT have consistent hrs or policies of any kind. Just went in 30 min ago (7:30) and was left standing at the counter while 2 employees ignored me to go about their business. When i asked if i could get some cheese one of them said they're closed. I said this early? And he said everyday at 6:30. That's bs. I've shopped here later than this and was served with several other ppl. This website says they close at 9. Prior, i've asked for thin sliced cheese and get mixed responses. The younger kids will do an amazing job but most of the older folk will just tell me their blades need

Not sure if any staff checks the expirations dates! I loved coming here but lately I feel the workers have been either not paying close attention or lazy to switch the old items out of the aisles. This is a health hazard! I go to other Jewel Oscos that care about their customers.

I swear, the worst jewel I've ever been to in my life. Always out of sale items. Staff that doesn't want to help. Just a bad place. Take the extra 5 minutes to drive to the gurnee one EDIT: ok it's just one dude who is super unhelpful, everyone else is cool. He knows who he is
