Very good grocery store. Has almost everything you would find at Jewel or Mariano’s. Prices are usually around 10% higher than the other box stores but you’re paying for convenience. They have a great deli with many prepared foods as well as some items you may not expect to find in smaller grocery stores. Seafood is a bit limited but reasonable prices. I find their better steak cuts to be a little too pricey so I go to Mariano’s or Whole Foods for beef filet or ribeye cuts. Produce section is pretty good as well. They need a better customer loyalty/rewards program.

I grew up in Highland Park and lived in Northbrook at one point and many other places in Chicagoland area. There is nothing like Sunset foods and there is nothing like their deli and their meat department. The only issue I sometimes have with their Deli is while they often have many of the same standard items available. Sometimes they don’t have popular items for several days or weeks at the time and there’s no schedule as to when they might have favorite items. Their “sunset turkey” is top-notch; much better than boars head, which I also like and other brands. Their soups are delicious home

Sunset feels like a community grocery store. Friendly, helpful, clean and an amazing selection of very fresh groceries, prepared foods, staples, fish and meat butchers to gourmet selections all very high quality. Prices are reflective of variety.

Really nice and neatly kept store. I was amazed at the deli, bakery, grab and go options. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. I had to do some tastings here and it was very inviting and friendly environment. The customers were very pleasant and it was just nice to see a friendly rapport between the regulars and the staff.
