First time here and I will say I love that when I showed up around 5pm ish that I was the only one there. Im introverted but had to make the most out of my day trip. Everyone kept saying to try this place and try benigets. You hear about it on social media, TV etc...mann look I was not impressed. Initially I was skeptical because its not the "Popular" location but it was so good. The beignets were hot and fresh. The hot chocolate was good but very rich and sweet. The vibes inside were warm and cute. The staff was very friendly. This woman came from behind the counter and gave my son a paper Cafe du monde hat. He loved it and we as parents appreciate them acknowledging and being kind to our toddler.

This place is a great alternative to not having to go to the original one downtown. The staff was friendly and had people who worked there who live close to it. So the locals all know who they are. It's not the cleanest restaurant in the world, but much cleaner than the one downtown that's overrun by tourists.. if you're on this side of town in New Orleans, give this place a try. It'll be worth your time. The beignet was fresh and plump, and the coffee is authentic Cafe Du Monde as it should.
