I already loved Gyro Stop, but I recently discovered they’ve expanded well beyond gyros. They now offer Chicago dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, pizza, and more. I had their Chicago dogs today and they were very good and filling — an excellent value for the price. You can easily get a satisfying lunch combo for under $15. Stopped by Gyro Stop around 6:30 PM and the place was packed. Only two guys were working, and despite the rush they handled it like champs. I had to wait a little bit for my order, but they were super apologetic and kept things moving as best they could. Parking was a little tricky since the lot was busy, but the restaurant itself is easy to spot — tons of signage outside and window ads showing off what they offer. Stopped by for some lunch and the food is simply divine. I had the chicken shawarma combo and a slice of pizza and they were both fantastic. The chicken was perfectly tender and the garlic sauce gave another level of flavor to the meal. The fries were perfectly cooked, tossed in Cajun seasoning. The cheese pizza slice was fantastic as well, good crust and just enough cheese with a pull. I didn't even need to add salt and pepper to this pizza, and as a native New Yorker I wouldn't hesitate to come back.
