Shaya is an absolute must-visit in New Orleans! The wood-fired pita is life-changing—pillowy, warm, and perfect for dipping into their incredible lamb ragout hummus. We also loved the cauliflower hummus and the halloumi, which were bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. The atmosphere on Magazine Street is chic yet welcoming, making it perfect for a date night or a group dinner. Even if you aren't familiar with Israeli cuisine, the staff does a fantastic job guiding you through the menu. Pro tip: Make a reservation well in advance because this spot is rightfully popular. Easily one of the best

Unexpectedly excellent elevated middle eastern dinner at this elegant spot. High points of the meal were the pita bread and the Lebanese flat bread with pomegranate molasses, both freshly baked in the wood burning oven and the cauliflower and caramelized onion hummus. The flavors were authentic to the style but more refined and balanced than expected. The hibiscus and passion fruit iced tea was refreshing. The cocktails were just ok. Still very much worth the trip.

This is clearly a very popular Middle Eastern restaurant, and I’d definitely recommend making reservations if you plan to visit. I was dining alone and was fortunate enough to grab a seat at the bar. I started with the Mediterranean salad, which was light and refreshing. For the main course, I had the chicken leg and thigh served with aromatic rice, charred green onions, pistachios, pecans, and tzatziki — a really flavorful and well-balanced dish. The complimentary pita was also a highlight, especially knowing it’s baked fresh in the wood-fired oven visible from the dining area. Overall, a g

Top tier experience. Original and classic mideastern foods but with southern flare. The fresh baked pita bread is light and fluffy and pairs perfectly with the mezze and hummus plates. The lamb shank, chicken leg & thigh and hangar steak each have unique elements which make them stand out. Immersive drink and cocktail options and an indoor/outdoor covered patio dining space really make this a beautiful experience. Loved it!
