Stopped by for brunch with a friend. The menu is just big enough to not be overwhelmed while also offering a great variety of sweet and savory items. We got a pistachio croissant, mango cheese danish, almond croissant, and jalapeño turkey croissants. No complaints regarding the pastries as they were flakey, fresh, and not too sweet! If you find yourself in Poway and have a weakness for authentic, high-quality pastries, O'Brien's Boulangerie is an absolute must-visit. The only "problem" you’ll face is the selection—the variety is so impressive and everything looks so delicious that it’s genuinely hard to decide what to walk out with! Not sure why ratings are high, i give this spot 1.5 stars. Presentation is good as proof by the pics, but food is just OK. Its way too expensive for just OK. Some of the food items were very good like the corned beef hash & eggs and the avocado trio. My biggest complaint is that this is a bakery and their baked goods were horrible. The pecan sticky bun was so dry, kind of hard, & even after warming it, none of us cared for it. French toast might as well been from ihop. We drove 45 mins and it was worth every minute. Great breakfast and delicious pastries. My kiddos had pancakes and eggs while we sat outside enjoying the nice weather. This is off the beaten path but definitely worth a trip!
