The service was great and it was a very chill spot in the morning. The biscuit and gravey were just okay though. Tbe kept my coffee hot and fresh and they were always around for refills, I want to go back and try something else because they had other menu items that looked good. So I went back a second time and got something else. The service and the vibe were great!! food was better!! I like the diner due to its convenience so I think I will keep going back. I love great food dont get me wrong but I would rather have okay food and amazing service rather than the opposite.

We had an okay experience at Black Bear Diner Monterey. It took a while to get seated, although there was a large group waiting when we arrived. The restaurant did not seem very busy while we were there during breakfast time. The food was okay overall. The eggs and hashbrowns were the highlights of the meal, but the rest of the food could have been better. The restaurant seemed clean and well maintained. We had such a wonderful experience at Black Bear Diner! The portions are absolutely huge. My husband ordered the New York steak and it was gigantic — seriously impressive! Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We also ordered one regular meal and one from the kids’ menu, and it was more than enough for us. We left completely full and very happy! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and our server was incredibly friendly and attentive. The service really made our visit even more enjoyable. Great job to the whole team — super experience! We will definitely be back!

The food is GREAT. Tons of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The pancakes are massive and fluffy. They got their own sauces to try and they are pretty good. Definitely good on the prices too.
