Ordered a fish, oyster and shrimp platter. That was average. The crab cakes taste like they were pre-made frozen and then flash fried. Don’t order them. Blah. Red beans and rice were average. The fried okra was good tho.

We came in a review from a friend but were thoroughly disappointed. We dined in, but had to eat with plastic silverware. We ordered the fried green tomatoes. They had no flavor, soft and were actually red tomatoes. I ordered the #31 which had fried fish, shrimp and crab cakes with red beans and rice and hush puppies. The red beans and rice were Felicia. We stopped at Sam's Southern Eatery as we were passing through town. We are so glad we did! This place is a 10/10! The sweet tea was freshly brewed and perfectly sweet. We ordered the fried catfish, fried oysters and fried green tomatoes. Each one was the best that I've had in any of those categories. Flavored and fried to complete perfection. The catfish was light and fluffy and crispy on the outside. The red beans and rice were also spectacular. Even though they were a side, they have main dish energy! The price point is absolutely fair. This place is a jewel. I highly recommend!!
