I had a very frustrating and unacceptable experience at La Perla. They are charging what looks like double taxation on customer bills. Sales tax is applied to the food items, and then tax is calculated again on the total bill. That is not normal and feels like customers are being overcharged without clear explanation. When I questioned it, I was basically brushed off and told “taxes are what you have to pay,” which completely avoided addressing the actual issue. Wonderfully delicious. Healthy portions. Reasonably priced! It's the second time I've been here and loved the food and service each time. The server was friendly but didn't appear to speak much English if any. Luckily my wife is fluent. Pay attention to your bill though 15% gratuity (aka service charge) added to my bill itemized between subtotal and tax.
