Manvule Makayi★★★★★Service is great. They probably have the best traditional cocktails. An espresso martini will always be a go to, and no place makes a better one! Food is so fresh. Flavor is immaculate. The atmosphere of the place is so warm. It’s definitely a must go to place if you like good food, drinks and environment.
Chabu Bangs★Found a live, crawling inch worm in my salad! I used to go to this place atleast twice a week for the food and atmosphere, always tagging a friendor colleague along, and being an ambassadorof the place. 2 weeks ago I ordered a burger and a salad for a take away, only to find a live inch worm crawling in my salad after taking A few bites! 🤮 I was deeply saddened and disgusted by this, my gag reflexes kicked in honestly. I sent them a video privately on WhatsApp to let them know their vegetables aren't being washed properly. They left me on read and completely ignored the message. If they don't care about a live bug in someone's food, I hate to think what else is going on in that kitchen. Gross food and terrible customer service. Avoid.
Diana Sakala★★★★★A long overdue visit to one of the few great places in the city. I appreciate the fact that it's a little long drive to this place. It made it even more worthwhile. Thank you to Louis for the great service. He was a bit overwhelmed with the work, but he handled it like a pro and was so helpful in ensuring that we had a good lunch. His service was great, though he would disappear to tend to endless tables (wonder where his friends were). He was honest enough to share how his workload was but still make us feel important. The food was so delicious! I ordered chicken cordon bleu (w/ mashed potato, roasted, and mushroom sauce). It all just made sense together, and it was flavorful. Definitely did not expect that. I had a taste from both my date's plates (beer battered hake for one and chicken curry for the other), and their food was just as good! The drinks were good, the margarita felt a little sweet but everything else was just right! The place is cute, no extraordinary ambiance, bu
La S★★Not great. We went for dinner, the service was ok, the waiter was attentive enough, however the food was really below average. It took an hour and 10 mins for plain rice and 6 grilled prawns, the side salad came with no dressing, and there was a little plate with solidified butter meant for the prawns (the menu said it comes with lemon herb butter). The food just didn't taste of much and was very basic . Not sure how grilling 6 prawns can take an hour and 10 mins. The rest of the sides (starches and salads)are usually prepared at the start of the dinner service in the restaurant and just plated up. I guess that wasn't the case here. I guess its ok for pub food like chips or chicken wings or a pizza but anything fancier seems to not be great (tried the mash with beef fillet a few days ago, that was also very basic and very dry).
Namoonga Shikapande★★★★★The Village has amazing brick oven pizza with fresh tomatoes. I loved the blue cheese option. The service was good, although it took a bit of time for a waiter to attend to our table, possibly because we entered from the garden. The milkshakes are delicious, but be sure to request a thick consistency. The outdoor space is lovely, and there's ample parking and clean toilets. Overall, I'd give it 5 stars for service.
Pranak Nayee★★★The first time I tried it out,the dining experience was great and the service was great too even though it was closer to the kitchen closure time. The second time I had gone there of recent, the service was bad in the sense that the group of us were told the kitchen was closed so no orders could be placed but drinks could be served, waited for the staff to serve us some drinks but no one showed up at our table, instead we had to grab the drinks on our own until they brought some over later.
Tarryn Holliday★★★★Updating my review! Returned to the Resturant and had some chicken strips and chips. Resturant was busy, but we still got a table. I have never had such delicious chicken strips before, so much flavour. And their chunky chips were devine. My food was supposed to come with sweet chilli sauce as stated on the menu, but it came with tomato sauce. One star lost for that. But! Food didn't take too long, and staff super good at what they do. Was a totally different experience. I'll be back again. Previous review - Fire ants dropping off the trees onto me, wasn't that great. Very painful bites. But the food was good. However, everyone got their food before me. I had to sit and wait maybe a good 10 minutes watching others eat, before getting my meal. Everyone ordered drinks including myself, everyone got their drinks and mine was missing. Maybe it was just my unlucky day. Food was good though. Would definitely go back and try the other dishes that passed our table ~ Villagers Burger (no garni
