Had a fantastic experience at Restaurante Meguiñez in beautiful Mijas! The atmosphere was charming and authentic, with a cozy Andalusian vibe right in the heart of Mijas Pueblo. The food was absolutely delicious fresh ingredients, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Extremely disappointed. If I could give minus 5 stars, I would. The waitress was rude from the moment we arrived and acted like we were inconveniencing her just by being there. The appetizers were average at best. The sardines were tiny, very few in quantity, and completely tasteless. The paella was runny and seemed undercooked. The biggest shock was the “leg of lamb.” It was so strange that we genuinely questioned what animal we were being served because it certainly did not taste or look like lamb. Went to this restaurant once for lunch and twice for dinner and the food, service was excellent. Tapas at lunchtime, we had the nachos delicious, dinner great selection of food and very very tasty. If you find yourself in Mijas Pueblo go here.

Arrived fairly late on a Tuesday night so quite quiet in there. We both had chicken skewers which were excellent. Very tasty and plentiful. Would visit again but we've run out of holiday!
