Visited Isso restaurant last week and ordered 3 dishes. The Fish & Chips and Isso Nasi Goreng were really awesome and tasted great. However, the Isso Kottu was extremely salty. I informed the staff, and after tasting it themselves, they also agreed it was too salty. They offered to remake it, which I appreciate. But since I had already eaten half and was already full, I declined the replacement. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t any refund or alternative compensation provided afterwards. Also, I noticed the bill had “Duplicate” mentioned at the top, and I wasn’t sure what that meant. Sharing this as honest feedback because the overall food quality was actually good. Hoping to hear from the team regarding the experience and the billing clarification as well.

I brought a few of my foreign friends from the UK here a couple of days back as they wanted to try authentic prawn dishes from Sri Lanka and Isso did not disappoint. I have been to Isso a few times before and the experience this time was once again wonderful. We were greeted upon our entrance and the server brought us to our table. We did not have a reservation but we were able to get one of the comfy seating areas as the place was a bit quiet. We ordered the traditional Sri Lankan Lamprais and the garlic rice with devilled prawns which lived up to its reputation. My friends absolutely loved it and especially the lamprais was really flavourful. The service was perfect and unobtrusive.

Isso Restaurant is a great spot if you enjoy bold, spicy flavours. The Jaffna-style curry was very spicy but absolutely top notch in taste. I also tried their calamari, could have been better. Prices are on the higher side, and it would be better if they increased the rice portion to match the cost.

Came here after many years and dare I say the food and service was even better than before! They have such an interesting menu. Highly recommend their hopper batter waffles with prawns + kithul treacle + garlic chillies sauce combo. It was so so good! The isso wade was also flavourful and the best starter. And of course their jaffna curry prawns with kade paan has always been a favourite and still amazing. The drinks were good too! Service was fantastic. Knew their menu well, quick and efficient.

I had recently visited Isso Colombo and I had an amazing experience. The food was good and the prices were reasonable for the portions that are provided. The staff are very friendly and attentive making every one feel welcome. It’s a great place to be in with family and friends. Overall I enjoyed my time there and will be looking forward to be visiting again.
