Absolutely awful service and a complete lack of basic customer care. I went in to buy a simple takeaway ice cream and was told I would need to wait ONE HOUR because they were “busy”. It’s an ice cream, not a three-course meal. The blonde girl serving was extremely rude and clearly irritated while speaking to customers. Her attitude was completely unacceptable. On top of that, I noticed she kept going into the kitchen with her hair down, which is completely unhygienic. Hair can easily end up in people’s food. The most ridiculous part was when I asked for spoons for the children. I was told they

Hired the private function area for a party. Staff were so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We were able to decorate the room, put a photo slideshow on the tv and they provided a soundbar so we could play our own music. The hot buffet was exceptional. Everyone had such an amazing evening. I would highly recommend The Waterside for your next party!

Good place. Visited first time and the only regret was having discovered after bill that they got an IPA on tap, while asking to a waiter she said "don't know". Need to return to better try other plates.
