I would not recommend eating at this place. This is a stuffed fish dinner and the peppers and onions are over powering the meal its self . The fish is super soggy and taste like mayonnaise and tartar sauce together the “ crab meat “ taste like mush. I don’t wanna sound rude but they aren’t African American so they cannot cook good “ soul food “ as we would I suggest they hire people of some color or who’s more experienced in the soul food culture because this was terrible not one thing was good. The building is a little outdated but a lot of their food is flavorful with huge portions! So I’m a forever customer. Especially being in District Heights and you’re not walking through beggars or “youngins” hanging outside of the store. Today I had the 3 piece smothered pork-chop dinner w/ greens and yams ($21.99). This was my first time trying the smothered pork-chops, they were “ok”, sauced with gravy on the outside but a little dry (to my liking) on the inside. I ordered a porgy dinner and the fish was not fresh. I did call to complain, however they share its fresh. I'm a seafood lover and from NC I know when fish is fresh or not. I will not be patronizing them again. I will stay with the one in New Carrolton food always good! Editing my review. This morning 12/30 I found hair stuck in my fish. See photo. My hair is braided so it definitely not mine. This means they are not using nets in the kitchen. I think I will contact the health department to do a check on them. This is unacceptable!
