Clint★★★★★Yesterday, I had a KD’s Special poboy. It was delicious. It came out promptly and exactly the way I’d ordered. The waitress was accommodating and attentive. It’s always a relaxed scene during the day. It gets 4 stars on atmosphere because the staff were talking loudly about work (critically) and the warehouse-ish “cool white” lightbulbs are harsh on the eyes. The booths are always comfortable, and the moderate noise level is what’s to be expected (and some of the charm) of a diner.
Al S★★★★★Solid local divey breakfast dive spot. Got the KD special or something like that. Eggs, two sausage patties, biscuit and grits with coffee. Mom's got the two pancake plate. Food was good. Grits required salt and butter but good once hooked up. Biscuit was average. Sausage patties were solidly porky. Pancakes were huge. Soft and good. Felt like a real local spot. All that food was less that $20. Came out quick, service was friendly. Would make it a staple when in Lake Charles.
