I finally made the 40+ minute drive to Alpha Gyro in Harvey, IL after repeatedly hearing about their famous “Gym Shoe.” This hoagie comes loaded with roast beef, corned beef, gyro meat, lettuce, onion, cheese, mayo, all served on a soft French/hoagie-style bread, and you can order it hot or cold. Online- the meats are finely chopped so everything blends together smoothly in each bite. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. The meat was cut into much larger pieces, and as shown in the image I posted, the gyro meat was the most prominent, which ended up overpowering the corned beef and roast

Go and get the king size gym shoe sandwich. Best sandwich in all of Harvey. Garlic fries are on point. 2nd best garlic fries I have ever had. I will be back

Ladies working here have excellent customer service. Management greated customers. Foods delicious gyro had plenty of meat. Fries cooked in fresh grease. Im satisfied!

Food is always good..Prices have gone up quite a bit but hey, everything has gotten higher these days. My favorite are the rib tips and don't forget to pay a lil extra to replace the regular fries with garlic fries
