My husband, toddler, and I were looking for a good spot to eat tonight. We stopped into Petro to check out one of their spots to eat. We decided to stop into Dolly Down, and are so glad we did! We really weren't sure what to expect at first, but ended up absolutely loving this place! The food was fantastic. They serve breakfast all day, so I ordered a full biscuits and gravy, my husband ordered an omelet and some French toast, and we got mini corn dogs with fries for our little one. I had 3 eggs, hash browns and a ham steak. Everything was good except the ham. The ham slice was very thick, but had much lesser density than normal. It did not taste good, but I didn't want to waste it, so I ate it. It ruined an otherwise good breakfast. The ham was obviously a "ham and water product" (the lowest quality). How Ham is Labeled: Ham: No water added. Lean part is at least 20.5% protein. Ham with Natural Juices: Has 7% to 8% added water. Ham, Water Added: Has up to 10% added solution by weight. So first impressions it’s really small. I’m used to Petros having their own full restaurants, but this one is basically just a little corner spot. I’m sure they had to downsize because there are other fast-food options in the same building, which I get. As for the food, I agree with some of the other reviews—the prices are a bit steep for what you get, depending on who you ask. Otherwise, the service was friendly. I’d only recommend it if you’re specifically wanting something that isn’t fast food.
