After discovering Licks Cakes at the Kelso Wedding Show, we had the chance to sample a few of their flavours — but one completely stood out: the Irn-Bru cake. As big Irn-Bru fans, we were curious, but after the first taste, we instantly knew this had to be our wedding cake flavour. I ordered a birthday cake last month and was really happy with how it turned out. I’d mentioned my favourite colour and that I like jigsaw puzzles, and they managed to work both into the design in a really thoughtful way. The cake served about 30 people and was fully gluten free, with vegan cupcakes on the side, and everything tasted great. Several guests commented on how good it all was. Overall, the whole process was easy and the end result was exactly what I’d hoped for. I’d happily order from them again.

Alicks made my husband’s 80th birthday cake. Things were a bit complicated as I wanted a GF base and a sugar free or low sugar top. I’d left it a bit late so he ended up making just the base (I made a big sugar free scone for the top). The cake was delicious. The service was great and he’s a very friendly chap.
