By far the best bar of the lot that we frequented in Edinburgh, I just wish that we had found it two years ago. Friendly people running this establishment, serving good wine, cracking pint of Edinburgh Gold Ale, and for a reasonable price. An amazing selection of whisky. A clean and tidy quality traditionally refurbished interior, we had a great late afternoon/early evening in here along with friendly clientele. Dog friendly.

This is such a wonderful little bar in the middle of the new town side of Edinburgh. The decor is lovely and creates a cozy atmosphere and the landlord and his staff are attentive and friendly. It has a lot of history too. Ask the landlord about it!

Very cozy bar/pub to have a drink. The stuff recommended us what beer to chose, even giving us some to taste before the pint. It seemed local, not much people. Amaizng whiskey variety to try!

It is the kind of place that still feels like a proper neighbourhood bar. The staff are genuinely welcoming and treat you like you belong there, not like just another customer passing through. The whisky selection is already excellent, and they even ordered in my favourite bottle. They certainly did not need another whisky on the shelf, but they did it anyway. They do not serve food, but the snacks are first class and exactly what a proper bar should have. Good people, great conversation, and a bar that feels like home after only a few visits.
