Visiting The Black Lion for the first time, I was initially sceptical about whether the food would live up to the glowing reviews. After trying the Sunday roast, I can confidently say it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The lamb was full of flavour, the portion was generous, and it was excellent value for money. Absolutely stunning pub with an amazing athosphere. Booked for a group Christmas work event on a Friday night so had the pleasure of having live entertainment, which was so good and took the atmosphere to another level! Jose and team were attentive from our initial enquiry right through to when we left in the evening. Ordered the fish and chips. Was mediocre at best, batter was plain. Got a gin and tonic double because there was a promo for 7 quid, but found I was charged 16.65 for it. I was puzzled so I asked them about it, they said the promo was for a single shot G&T, and since I ordered a double I had to pay the original double shot G&T price. Seriously? Couldn't they have just charge it as 2 single shot G&T?? They refused to do anything about it so yea.. no service recovery too
