Had a poor experience today (Tuesday lunchtime). It was quiet and apparently the menu is new. Three of us opted for the sourdough cheese toastie with fig chutney. All three came without any chutney (as did one on a different table). When we mentioned it, the chutney came out in a little pot, cold, for us to pull open our toasties and add ourselves. The cheese was utterly flavourless and hardly any of it. The bread was rock hard, crusty and an inch thick, so each bite was dry, painful and hard work to chew. This, tomour surprise was a Greene King. By far the poshest one I have been in..I'm glad to say that the food and service matched the environment. Very friendly and attentive staff. A truly lovely building. Well worth a visit. The ONLY massive negative is that they have sold their soul to a parking company, so if you forget to put your registration in, you'll get a fine. Just another rule to adhere by before you relax...

Visited the Greaves tonight 10th January, 2026. The restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The staff there, despite being busy were professional and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food. The food was very well presented and flavoursome and we will definitely return later in the month. Thank you.

We’ve been here a few times and it’s always a 50/50 experience. The ambience of the place is really the main good thing about the place and the fact they are dog friendly but this meal really tipped me over the edge to not return again. The starter of the crispy squid honestly had me astonished, I asked if this was their regular portion size and they said yes but looking at the photo I took as soon as we received it…. it looks absolutely ridiculous and really not acceptable. No presentation whatsoever, squid wasn’t even crispy, dried up lettuce just scattered all over the plate and even ended
