Ah quaint little hidden pleasure half way up the steps at the back of the scotsman hotel. Well worth a visit. Good selection of drinks. I would recommend sticking to bottles if drinking beer as my pint of Innis & Gunn ( which I love) was flat and I get the impression the taps are not used too regularly.

What a great little pub. We went there on our last day in Edinburgh and I wish we would have gone sooner. It seems to be a local's pub and we had so much fun with those who were there. We appreciated the hospitality and kindness too. It was a great ending to our 2 weeks in Edinburgh. Google states that they serve food but they don't.

Lovely pub close to Waverley railway station. Useful whilst awaiting time for trains! Halfway House is accessed up a flight of steps just off Market St. opposite the station. There's a good range of beers, and the barman who served us was friendly and helpful.
