Conveniently located inside Essen’s main train station, this Starbucks is ideal for a quick coffee before a train. The place is clean with enough seating, and the drinks are up to the usual Starbucks standard. However, your experience can vary, sometimes the staff is friendly and efficient, other times service feels rushed or inattentive. Overall, it’s a reliable but not exceptional stop for travelers.

The variety of recipes and ordering models is usually a strong suit for Starbucks, but I wonder if the shop actually belongs to the chain - out of 6 'mobile orders' with a 'returnable cup' over the last month, almost every time I got a disposable cup waiting for me. Are the waiters trying to make a quick and dirty 2 euros on me or what is it? Almost never was my order in a returnable cup respected. I feel uncomfortable ordering here any more. UPD. Yesterday, my card was declined at this store, and I didn’t receive any of my order. However, they still charged my credit card. I’m not sure what kind of scam they’re pulling.

The blonde, bespectacled clerk began removing chairs and desks two hours before the end of opening hours, intentionally making it impossible for customers to sit down and forcing them to sit in a small area. They also made it look like the food was finished with no refrigerator lights. They were obviously trying to make themselves less work. I don't know if people in Essen would accept this kind of store, but it was the worst Starbucks experience I've ever had.
