We have been to this branch of the Toby Carvery chain on a number of occasions as we all love a carvery and this is quite close to where my Grandmother lives. Had booked in advance, using the app and on arrival, was greeted by a member of staff who took us to our table. We were soon attended to by another member of staff who confirmed what we wanted, took drinks orders and quickly returned with these. As we were having the carvery, we were able to go straight up,

Margaret was great. It was a very busy sunday and she was calm.and friendly. Food area was very very hot, which is understandable but so was the restaurant which might have been altered. So very hot. Ran out of crackling at 4pm.

We had a very poor experience at the Wickford Toby Carvery. The strawberry lemonade was nothing like what the menu led us to expect. A normal strawberry lemonade is cloudy lemonade with a touch of strawberry syrup — simple, refreshing, and something my children drink regularly. What we were served was a sickly, cheap‑tasting version with an expensive price tag attached to it. When we raised this and asked for a reduction, the manager was rude and dismissive. He insisted it was our fault, even though the menu clearly stated the other two drinks in the range were fizzy, which implied this one w

Margret served us and she was great, friendly and shared jokes with us. The atmosphere was good because it was quiet, middle of the day on Saturday. We had lunch and dessert. It was clean, the building and surrounding scenery is really nice. We enjoyed the whole experience
