At Ristorante Dolcetto, we arrived as a family of four on a sunny May weekend—two adults and two highly motivated eaters (20 & 12) in urgent need of proper fuel after exploring Hamburg’s canals. Tucked away on a corner, the place has the comforting charm of a classic trattoria. This restaurant was local to where we were staying and recommended by Google for finer Italian dining The establishment is well-situated at the confluence of two neighborhood streets, which makes for an attractive outdoor seating experience. Inside, the ambience and decor is relaxed, upscale neighborhood Italian, with the only issue the narrowness of the interior affected by the patrons and staff opening the door of the central restroom and service entrance. I lived in Italy for 3 years. Dinner tonight took me right back to La Dolce Vita! The gnocchi alle Genovese was a perfect early summer dish - light but flavorful. The Montepulciano di Abruzzo complimented it perfectly. Finally a proper espresso in Germany. Grazie mille! Torniamo Subito.
