I've been here three times just recently. The coffee is always good and reasonably priced. It's self service here from the coffee machines. They also have an interesting range of excellent bread, rolls, croissants and cakes. You choose what you want yourself, then take your selected items to the counter for payment. And the time before last they had a very chirpy young lady behind the counter, singing and dancing her way to herself. Our visit to Backwerk was unfortunately extremely disappointing. The cashier was exceptionally unfriendly, annoyed, and completely disinterested in the customers. A minimum level of friendliness or customer service was practically nonexistent. What was particularly jarring was that basic questions, which should be standard practice in any restaurant, weren't even asked – for example, whether we wanted the roll warmed up, whether we wanted to eat in, or if it was for takeaway.
