In 3 months, this was my 2nd visit. In October 2025, had stayed in Taj Mahal and used my Epicure Privilege Dining voucher. Breakfast fast was excellent, dinner had a very small manageable, insignificant hiccup. Mr Sanjay and his team did a fantastic job making our dining experience great. This time last week, we had planned Lunch in The Capital Kitchen, Taj Palace after confirming from their desk, but were disappointed by the desk when we reach their as they declined our voucher stating that its not valid for Sunday but its no where mentioned in TC. So I called on Machan and Mr Raktim Ghosh, without thinking for a minute, he accomodated our request and made our day fantastic, We are veey much grateful to him and his professional etiquettes. Our dining experience was superb though we couldn't taste all the dishes we had initially planned. Ms Nandini took extra care making our experience superb, so did Aryan. No doubt Taj and its restaurants have excellent food with excellent service and

This is the 2nd time I am staying at Taj Mahal hotel. I've always had breakfast here. What truly elevates the visit, though, is the hospitality. Manager Sanjay has a natural ability to make every guest feel genuinely welcomed and valued. His attentive yet relaxed approach creates an atmosphere where you’re not just another customer, but someone they’re truly happy to serve. Together, Chef Keshav and Sanjay create more than just a meal—they deliver an experience that feels personal and memorable. It’s the kind of place you find yourself returning to, not only for the delicious breakfast but for the warmth that comes with it.

We had lunch at the Machan today. The service was very poor, they seemed short staffed. We requested the appetizers first however the entire meal was sent together. We had to repeat our request three times over before we got someone to get it right. There were no plates on the table when the food arrived. The quality of the food is also average. It’s definitely not the five star experience I expected.

Located in the prestigious Taj Mahal Hotel, the restaurant sets high expectations with its elegant setting. While the ambience is refined, it feels dull—more quiet and lifeless than calm or inviting. The staff is polite and friendly but lacked knowledge of the menu, which is disappointing at this level. I ordered a Paneer masala kathi kebab, which tasted like it had been pre-made and then microwaved too long. It lacked freshness and flavor. The Anardana Paneer Tikka, however, was much better—well-cooked with a nice char and good marination. The drinks were the highlight. A cocktail from the menu (the number one) was well-balanced, and the Old Fashioned, made on request, was expertly done. Prices are expectedly high given the hotel, but the food and service don’t quite match the cost. Overall, the dining experience was mediocre.

Total letdown We went for a special breakfast outing, expecting the luxury Taj experience. Instead, it was a complete disappointment and a total waste of time and money. For a 5-star hotel, the buffet was shockingly mediocre. We were looking for a lavish spread to enjoy together, but the selection was uninspired and felt budget-level. The food variety was non-existent, and the quality was inconsistent- nothing like the 'huge spread' you expect from a 5 star hotel buffet. Machan didn't even come close. It’s frustrating to spend this much on a special outing only to leave feeling cheated. The service was slow and indifferent. Over all there was nothing to remember except a feeling of deep disappointment and regret. If you want a real luxury breakfast for your family, go to The Oberoi instead. Machan is living on its past reputation, but the current reality is rubbish. Never going back.

Heard all the hype about the place then decided to take my family there for a dinner. Had to wait a little for the table without the reservation. The restaurant is small and crowded most of the times. The interior is okay. The food was good, wouldn't say great, liked the food better at Capital Kitchen, Taj Palace. However, I would say, I didn't expect this type of service in an expensive restaurant like this. The service was bad, had to even ask to refill the water every time, maybe because of the crowd, no one was paying much attention. No a great experience as per the price tag that it comes with.
