After our local, (much visited), Beefeater closed for conversion into rooms and residents-only meals (!!), we really missed it. This restaurant, although further away from us, is absolutely lovely inside, despite its less-than-inviting exterior and location. Staff are friendly; service is excellent; and food is great! Tasty and reasonably priced.

Myself and ex work friends meet here every few months. Always a good welcome. Service at the bar was slow, the bartender was elsewhere. Service in the restaurant was very good. The steaks are cooked to your liking and served by very pleasant waitresses. The added advantage of eating lunchtime is my ex colleague (lives nearby and calls there regularly has 40% off voucher, this makes the food taste that much nicer.

Haven't been here for a few years decided to try tonight! Wont be coming back! Beef and ale pie and chips, would have fed a 3 year old! Thick crusted pastry size of a small mince pie from a chippy and about 10 chips! Steak sampler, 4oz fillet, 4oz sirloin, 4oz rump! Waitress said they were renowned for their steaks! Nearly broke my teeth they were so chewy, even the fillet! Mostnof the steak inedible! Skin of fries were nice, garlic bread, just a thick lump of dough! Aweful food!
