I am sadly quitting this store after being a regular customer for 4 years!! I am extremely disappointed with my recent experiences at the Costa Coffee branch in Darlington. Since the new management took over, the atmosphere and standard of customer service have significantly declined. The manager’s behaviour towards customers has been consistently unprofessional and, at times, acting outright rudely. My go to place for a proper coffee. Sitting inside is comfortable with plenty of seating available. Usually a lot quieter than the Costa in town. If early I like to grab some toast too. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The service is in here today is appalling. The fridge not working. Not given a glass with a bottle of coke. I got told as a paying customer i only had to ask! Excuse me where are the customer service skills here? Obviously none! Rude, lazy staff, with their elbows on the counter it doesn't look good!!

I ordered a pot of tea, waited at counter for it, the tea pot, napkin, jug of milk and saucer were on the tray then the person serving put her fingers inside the cup and placed it on the saucer. I was mortified and requested another cup that hadn't had her fingers inside, she gave me another cup but her attitude sucked.
